Joe Delaney

Founder, Managing Director & “Financial Lifeguard”

What are your greatest wealth goals? During Joe’s 35+ years as a financial professional, he has likely encountered and addressed similar challenges. He reinforces his own seasoned experience as a wealth manager, corporate executive, business owner, real estate owner and broker, CPA, and community leader, by collaborating with a national network of financial professionals and academic thought leaders.

As a former ocean lifeguard in his youth, Joe also integrates his first-responder, “lifeguard mentality” into our firm culture, ensuring we’ve always got our clients’ back.

Before founding Lifeguard Wealth in 2012, Joe held several senior positions with real estate institutional investment, real estate capital and wealth management firms. In 2001, he shifted his focus to providing personal wealth management care to individuals and families … and has never looked back.

Joe holds an MBA in finance from UCLA Anderson and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and was a member of the water polo team.

Professional Leadership

In 2004, Joe joined the first ProVisors group formed in the Bay Area; today he leads it. ProVisors is a private network of professional advisors, attorneys, bankers, CPAs, insurance agents and others dedicated to superior client care and collaborative resource-sharing. In 2018, he was honored to be named the organization’s Group Leader of the Year.

Community Leadership

Joe also is passionate about giving back to his community near and far, including several Marin County non-profit groups, his alma mater Stanford University. Additional details can be found here.

Personal Interests

As you might expect from a former lifeguard, Joe is an avid competitive master swimmer and paddle board enthusiast. He also enjoys mountain biking and cycling, yoga, as well as spending family time with his two adult children.
